I Scrapped! I Really Scrapped!
It has been months since I scrapped. Months. (Think June). Honestly, this summer I just didn't feel like it, but I have been getting the scrapbooking itch lately and my mojo has left the building. It could be that I am feeling overwhelmed by the number of photos to scrap. I looked in my "To Scrap" folder and I have almost a four year backlog now. Eek! I don't scrap all my photos, just the events that I deem scrap worthy, and even still the pile grows.
Then I had a great idea. If I bought some quick pages and checked some photos off of the "To Scrap" list then maybe my mojo would return! While I think that Quick Pages are cool, I spend more time trying to make them work with my photos than if I had started from scratch. In my quest to get caught up I bought a huge number of Quick Page albums. That I wouldn't recommend. I have used only one or two out of each album (usually one). Here are some cute QP's that I finished up this week.
Savannah Moss Quick Page by Holly McCraig at My Digital Muse
The Starlet Album by Laura Deacetis at The Sweet Shoppe
Precious Child Album by Manda Bean and Friends at The Sweet Shoppe
But, I have good news! It seems that my mojo has returned! Last night I actually scrapped! (I don't consider Quick Pages really scrapping because all you have to do is drop in a picture). Granted, I did use a template by Holly McCraig, but it got the juices flowing. It helps when you have a good story to share.
Credits and journaling can be found here.
How cute is this layout?!? I just love the way it turned out and so does Zoë which makes it that much better. She keeps asking to see her pirate picture (and asking me where her hat is...I told her it was just a sticker on the layout but apparently she doesn't believe me because she keeps asking).

Oh, I love the pages!! Maybe you will inspire me to actually scrap too!

It still makes me smile every time I visit your blog. I swear it's my favorite color combination of all time. Just makes me happy. :) And YAY for the scrapping. Love the idea of using quickpages to get caught up. Sometimes the pressure can be such a mojo crusher. And too funny about the pirate hat. Zoe just cracks me up. :)

Love the pirate one! I'm way behind on scrapping too, both digi and paper, but you know, my daughter's only little once. When she gets bigger maybe I'll have more time. Just keep plugging away, doing what you like when you like it. If it never gets all done, your daughter will still love what you have accomplished!
