Since Eden is quickly approaching her 8th month I figured I should probably document her seven month accomplishments. She is growing and learning new skills so quickly that I have to get these down before I forget!
Routine:
Bed time around 6:30 each night. She generally wakes around 1:30am for a bottle, then again around 5:30ish, finally waking around 8:00. It is still a bit flexible. I had her sleeping through the night (no 1:30 feeding) but she has been so miserable with teething that I have been taking pity on her and going in there to give her Motrin. She is a one-napper. She goes down around noon and wakes around three.
Eating:
In addition to what I listed last month, Eden is eating: peas, green beans, butternut squash, pears, mangoes, and asparagus. She tried scrambled egg yolk and loves it. She gobbled it up as soon as I put it in front of her. She knew exactly what to do! She is also a pro at picking up and eating Gerber Puffs. She is drinking water out of a sippy cup and can also hold her bottle. She still has a bottle at nap time, bed time, and when she wakes at night.
Clothing:
Is still comfortably in her 6-9 month clothes. She is 16.5 pounds and has the cutest chubby little thighs. I've had to really watch her lately when she has bows in her hair because she likes to take them out and chew on them.
Other Tidbits:
-On the day she turned seven months old, Eden started making the K sound. She does it all the time and loves it when you make that sound back at her. I am thinking her first word may be kitty. We'll see.
-Eden now has TWO teeth (bottom center.) The second one broke through just before her 7th month.
-Eden went in for her first eye exam and guess who is getting glasses? Yep. Miss Eden. Not right away, because she is so young, but probably around the time she turns one. She has the exact same diagnosis as Zoë. Far-sighted and a lazy eye. Thankfully it hasn't been noticeably turning in.
-I swear she is practicing crawling in her crib. I find her on all sides, twisted on her back, tummy, wedged in the corner... you name it, I have found her there. Silly girl.
-We bought Eden a green blankey identical to Zoë's purple one. (We think green is her favorite color.) Eden got a hold of Zoë's purple blankey one day and just loved it. She nuzzled right into it and kept rubbing it on her face. She now falls asleep with green blankey snuggled next to her face.
-I had to drop her crib down to the middle setting because she was holding on to the railing and trying to pull herself up.
-She LOVES bath time. She especially loves running her hands under the faucet while the tub is filling up.
-We bought her a Sing Along Stage to give her something fun to play with now that she is a sittting-pro. She LOVES it. She will play with it for almost half an hour. Her latest trick is pressing the piano keys with her feet. What can I say? She's got skill.
