Just in Case...

Just in case you don't read my personal blog, I copied the post over here for you to see...

Quite a few of my friends have been taking monthly baby+bear photos of their newborns. I think that is just the cutest idea and fully intend on copying it, but with a twist, Eden+baby doll. Zoë brought her a soft and cuddly baby doll at the hospital and Eden loves it. I have been taking the photos but slacked off on the whole posting to the blog thing. Oops. I need to get these monthly milestones posted before I forget. Time goes so quickly with newborns. You kind of forget when they learned each new skill or tried something new unless you write it down.

Looking at these pictures I think I need to choose a new location for the photo shoots. The dark leather chair doesn't really show you Eden's hair. She has SO much of it. She actually has pigtails in the two month pictures but you can't see them. Grrrrr.

Onemonth Eden is the sweetest sleepiest baby. We actually took her to the doctor because she was sleeping so much and thought there must me something wrong with her (she was awake for about 3 hours a day, tops.) As it turns out Eden's sleepiness was completely normal, unlike her sister who had to be moving constantly. She caught her first cold at one week old (thank you preschool germs) and again at three weeks old. Around three weeks old she also started having problems with gas and was VERY uncomfortable. Despite that, she is still as sweet as can be. The sleepiness makes it almost impossible to nurse her, so instead I am pumping. Joy.

Twomonths The gas problems seem to be under control, but now Eden is suffering from acid reflux. My poor little baby. Sleeping in her vibrating chair seems to remedy the situation. The doctor put her on Zantac and prescribed a sleeping wedge (which Eden hates and refuses to sleep on.) She started smiling at 6 weeks old and give us all big smiles when she wakes up. She is awake for longer periods during the day and sleeps for longer periods at night, usually waking around 11pm and 3am for a bottle then goes right back to sleep, God bless her. She LOVES bath time. We actually had to place her baby tub inside the larger bath tub because she splashes so much and gets water everywhere. The also is a huge fan of her floor play mat. She stares up at the animals and swats at them. Speaking of staring up at things, she will sit in her vibrating chair (in her crib) and watch her mobile spin around for a good twenty minutes at a time.

Another Funny Story (From my iPhone)

We are getting ready to leave and Kelly just tried to put Eden in his backpack instead of her car seat. He of course stopped before she actually entered the backpack... Can you say sleep deprivation?

Before I Forget...

We are on our way to Costco and just drove over a bridge beautifully decorated for Christmas. Zoe and I are already completely in the Christmas spirit. It's all I can do not to put the decorations up. It's not like we are going to be home for Thanksgiving anyway... I exclaimed, "Kel, we can put Christmas lights on our house!!!" And he replied, "Absolutely not. That roof is too high. It's not safe for you to be up there." Nice. I'm hiring someone to do it. Little stinker.

It Doesn't Get Cuter Than This

Jammies Imagine if you will, Christmas morning in matching pajamas. (Kelly opted out. He wasn't a fan of the pink/purple combo. Shocking, I know.

Of course I bought them. Was there ever any doubt? You could practically see my credit card smoking.

I am so excited I can hardly stand it. ACK! Imagine the pictures! Gymboree was having their Circle of Friends sale today (30% off your entire purchase if you enter the code GYMFRIEND) and I bought some outfits for the girls. Matching of course. Once Eden is in 3 month clothes expect to see my girls dressed alike A LOT. Thankfully, Zoë loves the idea. Having two little girls is awesome.

Don't Forget To Vote!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween
Instead of waiting for Halloween night photos (which never turn out) I got the girls all dressed up for photos a few days ago. I love Zoë's costume, but she tells me that tonight she is going to dress up like a princess for trick or treating. I don't know why I even bother buying that girl Halloween costumes. She did the same thing last year. Miss Eden however was very comfortable in her outfit. As you can see, I couldn't even keep her awake for a single photo. Tonight we are going trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and then coming back home to hand out candy and watch some sort of Halloween movie...maybe Bedknobs and Broomsticks again. Happy Halloween! Stay safe!

The Backyardigans Live!

For those of you who don't have children, The Backyardigans is a cartoon that came out when Zoë was about six months old. We have every episode recorded on our media center computer. All 45 of them. Why? When they first came out there were only four episodes. After watching those about 100x we were THRILLED when new episodes would record. Well, it has been four years and we have let them continue to record...

Last weekend was very exciting at our house. On Friday we went to Nordstrom to meet The Backyardigans live and in person! Zoë was beyond excited to meet her very favorite cartoon characters. She had a list of questions that she wanted to ask them, at the top of the list was finding out why Tasha was not in the "Tower of Power" episode. Funny kid. (If you are wondering, Tasha told us that she was visiting her Grandma.)

On Saturday we went into Seattle to see The Backyardigans Live: Tale of the Mighty Knights. I have a soft spot in my heart for that episode. It was a Backyardigan's "movie" that came out just about the time that my morning sickness kicked in with Eden. Zoë and I watched that movie A LOT while I laid on the couch feeling disgusting. The live show was very cute. Zoë of course loved it and Eden slept through the entire thing. Good times.

Stage Fright? Um, No.

Last Saturday was the annual Heritage Festival for Zoë's school. It is the opening celebration of the year. Each family was to bring a dish to share with the others that represents their heritage. Since we are pretty much a melting pot of western European culture and have no specific "family" dish that we prepare, Zoë and I opted for chicken strips and macaroni and cheese. Why? I was 99% sure that Zoë would not touch anything else that the other families brought. (I was correct by the way.)

After dinner was over the variety show began. Students from the school performed skits, sang songs, and danced. It was very cute. As the show progressed Zoë got more and more sad. She sat next to me and looked completely pathetic. I thought that she must be tired since she hadn't napped and we were definitely out past her bedtime. Then Luci's mom (a little girl in her class) asked Zoë if she would like to go up on stage with Luci and Audrey to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. She immediately lit up and said, "Oh YES!" and practically ran to the stage. In fact, she kept trying to sneak on the stage to join the other acts while she waited for her turn.

After her public debut she ran back to me she said, "Mommy, they said my name! Now I am happy!" I think I have a little actress/singer on my hands. :)
