The Princess of Easter

We have been going to library the last few months. (Oddly enough, Zoë has never actually done that.) Zoë is starting to grasp the concept, but since we have really only ever gone to Barnes & Noble (and bought books) she got a little bit ticked off when we returned her beloved books.

Last time we were there we found the holiday section and started looking through St. Patrick's Day & Easter books. She latched on to The Queen of Easter and has been reading it every day. (That and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive The Bus, which has taught her all sorts of wonderful new phrases like, "I don't ever get to do anything" and "Please? I'll be your best friend." Lovely.)

Anyway, back to the Queen of Easter. After that, all talk of Jesus ceased. Frankly, she doesn't care. She wants to wear her Easter dress every day and insists that we call her "Princess of Easter" while she is wearing it. I actually had to hide her Easter dress because she kept sneaking off and putting it on. Little stinker!

Here is a photo of Miss Zoë with the Easter Bunny. This was our third visit to see him. The first time she had her picture taken, the second time was simply to stalk the poor bunny. Today we went because we got our photo back and Zoë's eyes were closed, so I had them retake the photo. I don't know what it is about that bunny but she loves him. She always has. She looks for him every time we go to the mall, or points out the spot where he can be found at Easter time. If only Santa were that lucky. :)

We were planning on going to Spokane for Easter this year but there is a nasty nasty flu going around right now, and frankly we don't want the cooties. A friend of ours was actually in the hospital last week because of it. While he was there someone told him that it was the busiest day in the history of Holy Family Hospital because of the number of people checking in with high fevers from the flu. No thank you. Spokane can just keep there germs, thank you very much.

That being said, we hope our family and friends are feeling better soon! We will be here having a small family celebration and Purell-ing for good measure. (Oh wait, that will probably just be me.)
